A new exhibit opened on the centenary of the commemoration of the Great War on 4 August 2014. This exhibit focuses on the involvement of the Dundee men in the war and also puts the South African participation in the First World War into context. Thousands of hours of research, planning, design and construction went into the making of this exhibit. In the process new and previously unavailable informaion was unearthed from local families.
Two publications are available from the museum. A reprint of the Delville Wood commemoration of the opening of the memorial in France in 1916 and “Dundee Men at War” by Pam McFadden and Pat Rundgren. This books tells the story of the Dundee men who went off to the Great War, 89 of whom did not come home.
